Your Body is Not a Battlefield

It’s the last week of July and it’s Monday, baby — the day everybody swears they’ll “start fresh.” That said, I hope you’re reading this with that same energy, because today is as good a day as any to accept this Rejooov truth:

Your body is not something you need to conquer.

It’s not an obstacle.

It’s not a project.

It’s not a battlefield -- it’s a home you get to return to.

& the way you treat your home isn't war, it's wellness.

And wellness isn’t about discipline — it’s about alignment.

A mind at war with the body is out of alignment, simple as that. It's disconnected and that separation ripples outward. It shows up as an inability to heal, strained relationships, and withdrawing from community.

But when you reconnect with your body, you reconnect with your people. You reconnect by strengthening your mind‑body connection and making wellness a Black thing, a communal thing, a sustainable thing.

Start by asking yourself: How often am I strengthening that connection?

Because a part of you already knows the truth — your mental and physical health are intertwined:

  • How you move affects how you think,

  • How you think affects how you feel, &

  • How you feel determines how you move.

And once you understand that link, you'll stop approaching wellness like punishment and start approaching it with strategy. You'll stop treating symptoms and start addressing the root because being human is a lot. Being a Black human more than a lot.

Why make it harder by attacking your body like it’s the problem?

The inner work is where satisfaction lives. Where healing begins.

So, here’s how the Rejooov Collective strengthens the mind‑body connection:

  • Acknowledge the link — name the connection so you can nurture it.

  • Try a little mindfulness — presence is clarity.

  • Move your body — movement shifts energy.

  • Practice self‑control — discipline is a form of self‑respect.

  • Stop obsessing over how your body looks — start paying attention to how it feels.

& Remember that when you honor your body, you strengthen the whole community — it starts with you.

Love & Light,

-Cina
